You can also get t-shirts, bumper stickers, etc. with the saying as well.
Christians surely wouldn’t pelt another person with bibles would they? Not peace loving, forgiving, brotherly loving, Christians surely?

Jesus loves you all. There is way to much beauty in this world to deny its creation. From the microscopic atoms that circle us, to the large universes and time itself. It’s impossible to deny, just as it is impossible to prove.

Hey, why don’t you just go ahead and make fun of Jewish people, and Muslims and 99% of the rest of the world that believe in something beside themselves. Let’s hear your explanation for the world and life as we know it…this should be good.

He who is whithout sin,may cast the first stone.Your words don’t anger me, they only sadden me.you are obviously in a dark place in your life, and denying God Will not anger him,only love you more, what human will do that for you.Afterall, this is the age of self gratification and the heck with everyone else.God will waite for you to come to him, he has all of eternity, but our time on this earth is not that long. To the question of life, the universe and everything…the answer is 42.
Douglas Adams aside, why is it that just because we don’t have an answer for how the universe began we must automatically believe it was created by magic? If don’t know how Oreos are made do I have to conclude it must be the work of fairies? I can say that the universe is a beautiful and complex thing that I can’t begin to comprehend and still not be forced to accept it was created by God because I can’t come up with a better answer. Also, I don’t have to come up with an answer to the origin of life to say I don’t believe in God. I don’t have to know the optical explanation for rainbows to confidently say that it is likely that they were not created by leprechauns. They only reason God is given more weight is because so many people believe it is true.

I wouldn’t ask anyone to believe what I do because life can’t be proven any other way, though it hasn’t been so far, and I can’t prove that God is real…what I am saying is that I could be right just like science could be right, and you don’t hear anyone making fun of science. Oh wait, you do. I’ve heard people make fun of the fact that at one point scientists believed the earth was flat and leaches suck the fever right out of peoples blood. Science has been wrong in the past, what about the future? Check out “Expelled”. Ben Stein is a pretty smart dude. Fairies? Come on. And to say that one person thinks that the existence of God only occurs to people because so many people think it true….that doesn’t even make sense. I have met some pretty pushy and angry atheists recently, my point is don’t push your non-religious beliefs on me and I wont push my beliefs on you. I will only break silence if what I believe in is so blatantly made fun of. Come on people, let’s just grow up.

Raleigh, you make my point for me.
Based on your logic then we can not be critical of any theory of creation. That means we can’t be critical of Greek/Roman mythology, Norse Mythology or the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Obviously most off us thing it is ok to make fun of ancient creationist theories so why is Christianity off limits? I use the terms leprechauns and fairies because they are EXACTLY the same as God…Magical beings that people believe in out of faith. It is absurd to think that leprechauns create rainbows just like it is absurd to think this “God” being created the universe.
What I am saying is that science may not have all the answers but the lack of answers does not in any way force me to believe in some all mighty deity.
Andthis is the most absurd thing of all:
No one forced you to come here. No one forced you to read anything on this site. No one forced you to comment. No one is pushing ANYTHING on you. You have chosen to consume this material on your own. If you don’t like the opinions found here there are about a bazillion other sites to choose from including many religious sites that will take the time to stoke your fanaticism. Maybe you should check some of those out.
Finally, I don’t know what Christian apologist website you stole your list of “smarties” from but you should take the time to look into what some of them said about religion INCLUDING Einstein. Do your research and then let me know if you think he believed in your God.

Ummm, yes, as a Christian I am only allowed to look at Christian web sites…intelligent statement. Actually I got it here: http://www.adherents.com it’s not a “Christian” web site, it includes over 4,200 religions, churches, denominations, religious bodies, faith groups, tribes, cultures and movements. And you left out one quote shadow helm “I have met some pretty pushy and angry atheists recently” I was speaking of the pushy and angry atheists I’ve come across, not pretty helmet’s blog…friends of mine actually that I get along with wonderfully otherwise. I wasn’t talking about pretty helmet, don’t you think that I’m fully aware that I don’t have to read her blog? She can put up anything she wants on HER blog, no one forced me to come here, just like no one is forcing you to respond to me…though it seems I have struck a nerve somehow. I’m not angry (as you seem to be) about it as much as I am just letting my side of the argument be heard. And yes, Einstein was Jewish. What? Do you have something to say about them too? I was a little disturbed to see Christianity be so blatantly made fun of, yes. And as for Greek/Roman mythology I think it’s more accepted to make fun of such things because, while I don’t know the exact numbers, I would imagine that there aren’t too many people around that hold those beliefs to be true and dear to their hearts. When you make fun of Christianity you’re making fun of peoples parents, and grandparents, and children, and a whole way of life. I also wouldn’t go to a website that happened to have anti Semitic or anti black statements and not write something opposing those either. There are as many Christians in this country as there are black men and women. I’m done now. As for you shadow helm “do not cast your pearls before swine” so I’m going to stop responding, because we’ll just go on and on. Gee, I wonder why us atheists are increasingly pushy and angry. Maybe it’s from watching our school boards get hijacked by fundamentalists. Maybe it’s from seeing a bunch of far-right ideologues seize our government under the banners of the cross and the flag. Maybe it’s from growing increasingly tired of loud-mouthed primitives telling women what they can do with their own bodies and dictating who can love whom. Maybe it’s from the stench of hypocrisy that exudes from every preacher who touts compassion and practices greed. Maybe it’s from realizing that following the marching Christian morons has led to a world poised on a knife-edge, teetering on the brink of ecological disaster that will cause famine and global resource wars.
Yeah, I am angry with Christians, and no, I don’t respect their opinions, insofar as they rely on magical thinking instead of rational analysis, falsifiability, and experimentation: you know, the Enlightenment values that created the modern world the Christians are busily dismantling in favor of a fascist theocracy.
The biggest problems facing mankind arise from tribailsm, fundamentalism, and nationalism. Religiosity of whatever stripe (Christian, Islamic, Buddhist, Jewish, whatever) feeds those deep wells of dysfunction, and should be held up to public ridicule at every available opportunity.
Every kid who leaves the church is a victory. Every gay man or woman with the courage to reject the narrow-mindedness of their traditions is a victory. Every apostate, heretic, free-thinker, blasphemer, and nay-sayer is a victory.
Sorry for the rant. I may be possessed by demonic forces.

Sorry it’s been a while since my last comment, but I don’t own a computer and have limited access to one. I’m sure you have been stressing about not hearing back from me; not(ha ha). Listen, I tried really hard not to come off all holier than thow and judgemental with my comments about this picture and people’s responses to it. You are right about one thing, God did give us free will to decide what we want to believe in, and he hopes that we choose him. I also understand your questioning all the things you were taught in the Baptist or Cathlic church growing up; but why didn’t you simply say that in the first place. Why the need to go to such an extreme negative point of view about Jesus Christ. I have been where you are right now. I grew up in a small Baptist church, and all I ever saw was a bunch of hipocrits and self rightous individuals who would not know the will of God if he slapped them upside their heads. During my twenties I went no where near a church because I had lost faith in the people their, but I never lost my faith in God and that he had a plan for my life, he just wasn’t ready to show me. I was about 28yo when I finished grad.school and noticed that everyone I new was married and off living new lives, while I was left alone. It was then I started reading my bible again, praying more. Slowly over the next two years I started feeling the need to go back to church and learn more about how to grow my relationship with God. I ended up getting a job in a field I never in my life thought about working in, and within the first year I befriended a fellow employee at our company softball game. Our conversation eventually drifted towards what church I went to. This person was a christian and was the nicest, selfless person I have ever met; she happened to attend the church I had been wanting to check out but did not have the guts to go alone. She invited me to her church and I have been atteding there ever since; 8yrs.I found that the preacher of this church did not focus on Hell and Brimston, and he did not give a list of Christian do’s and don’ts that will assure you a spot in heaven. He teaches that being a nice, good person, and a specific number of kind acts gets you into heaven. The only thing you have to do is repent your sins to God,and no you don’t need a priest to talk to God, and accept that his love for us is infinite and so deep that we will never fully comprehend it in our life time. You have to accept in your heart and mind that God did give up his only son, to save us from ourselves and damnation. Because whithout Jesus dying for all of our sins, there is no way we could ever be good enough to be in the presence of God in the end. God knows we are very falable creatures, and he provided us with a loophole in a sense; the only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ. Once you have accepted Jesus as your savior, the rest automatically changes over time. You do become a nicer person, more understanding, more accepting of people who are different or have different opinions, you want to help the needy, and so on. Now, I am not saying I am perfect because I am a Christian, because I am far from it; I get angry, curse, occasionally drink too much; another words, yes I do sin and I do go through hard times like anyone else. The difference is how I react in those situations, which is having faith that God will see me through the bad times, rejoyce with me for the good times, and forgive me daily for my sins. If you took the time to read all of this, I hope it was helpful. Keep asking questions, that’s why God gave us a brain, but remember you don’t have to disrespect or mock God/Jesus in order to discover who he is; even if you do, he forgives you for it and will always be waiting with open arms.

Addendom: after submitting my last comment, I read it and notice i can’t spell worth a crap, so ignore that. And one correction, I ment to say that our preacher teaches that a person’s acts alone do not get you into heaven.

I hope you know I am hear for you. I just read Kay’s comments and I concur. I had not looked at your blog in awhile, but another person who is near and dear to your heart and lives in another state told me about it. Please know that concern is the only thing that is WE all feel. It IS normal to have doubts, to question Faith. It is ONLY where you end up in the end that truly matters. Just keep your mind and heart open. And know that you are surrounded by a TON of LOVE.
